716Press New Year’s Resolutions

I have some New Year’s resolutions here for the 716Press blog which will hopefully (unofficially-officially) bring it back from the dead. The Sabres are terrible, the Bandits did not get off to a good start, and at least the Beauts have been doing a good job to stay afloat. Though the last one is not hard to do when there are only 4 teams in the league.

My first resolution goes with my first sentence in this post – I will write more. I’m not sure if DiePerske will also be up to using this blog more often as well, but I am going to do what I have to in order to keep up with my writing. It’s a huge stress reliever and I firmly believe that taking my frustrations out on the teams I watch by writing is a better option than attacking fellow fans on Twitter for dumb things. I had to get in arguments with two people yesterday but what’s in the past should stay in the past, right?

Second resolution is to be able to cover more sports than just hockey from my side of the screen. The Beauts will be back in action soon, the Sabres are still going on, and the Bandits have just started up their season so it will definitely give more material for the both of us on this website. The summer is harder because there is nothing really going on in Buffalo for that time of year besides the Bisons and FC Buffalo but I have no way to really watch either of those teams. If any of you had any suggestions, they would be most helpful.

My final resolution is to not be angry anymore in regards to my sports teams. How many times do you hear people say that sports are not worth the stress and heartache that we suffer from attending or watching losing teams day in and day out? I really don’t want to grow old and be bitter because I decided to root for my hometown teams who are cursed for all of eternity. Maybe I should carry Madame Zeroni up the mountain in order to break this curse that seems to forever haunt the Buffalo group of sports. Well, except for the Bandits and Bisons who have won championships before – and the Beauts did make the finals last year. Okay, I guess it’s just the Bills and Sabres that need to stop being horrific.

Anyways, I hope everyone starts off 2017 on a good note and this year is much better than what 2016 turned out to be.

Montreal @ Buffalo Postgame

Hockey season is back and time to revive this blog back from the dead. I’m looking forward to getting some much needed writing therapy. On a personal note, now that I’m working from home, I’m finding more time to do other things I love and I want this to be one of them. I’m going to take the time to clean up the blog as well and change the layout, but those are minor things compared to trying and keeping up with writing.

The Sabres need to be revived from the dead as well after that game. Continue reading

Here We Go Again, Preview 12 MARCH 2013, Enroth Style

Well, we’ve heard this storyline before. Jhonas Enroth will be in goal tonight for our beloved Sabres, which, would just be a lekker time for his first win since, I dont know, oh 26 NOV 2011. Enroth nearly posted a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils, but cramped due to the Devils giving him STDs, and let in the goal, and having Ryan Miller replace him, who took the tie(shootout loss).

My Three Assholes, In The Eyes Of A Sabres Fan

The answer to this post is more Sabres fans, right? Hardy har har. Sometimes I think that this should be the case.

From my seven or eight years of watching the Sabres closely, I’ve become accustomed to some players in this league who I will probably never respect in a hockey playing sense and consider them to be everlasting assholes. My reasons span from what has happened in the past involving this player that makes me see them as an asshole, or it could just be because they look like an asshole to me. Whatever the case may be, I’m sure the ultimate reason is going to be stupid in some way or form.

Anyways, jump behind the cut in order to see what we’ve got here in terms of assholes:
